Non-member ODs
If you are a Doctor of Optometry practising in British Columbia, find out what membership in the BC Association of Optometrists can do for you.
We are affiliated with national and government organizations, including the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the Eye Health Council of Canada. We work with the College of Optometrists of British Columbia, B.C.'s regulatory body for the optometric profession. Our membership comprises Doctors of Optometry working in 94 communities across B.C. Membership gives you resources that help you build your practice, connects you with other Doctors of Optometry and helps you stay current on the issues that matter most to you.
Our members are supported in achieving professional excellence.
Membership provides timely information, resources and a formal continuing education program which allows members to enhance their knowledge and skills and stay current with advances in the profession.
BCAO also builds our members’ profile with the public through television ads, media relations activities and more. Since 2003, our award-winning a-b-See™ children’s eye health awareness campaign has reached more than 250,000 children, their parents and their teachers.
The British Columbia Association of Optometrists is dedicated to advancing the successful practice of optometry by its members in accordance with the highest standard of patient care, and is the vigilant voice on issues affecting the eye health of all British Columbians. Learn more about the benefits of BCAO membership, or contact us directly at 604-737-9907 or info@optometrists.bc.ca.
